Spirit of Man & The Spirit of God

The spirit of man knows the things of man.  The Spirit of God knows the things of God.

Before man is regenerated, man doesn't know where man comes from, what he is living here on earth for.  But after his regeneration, he knows.  For the spirit within man reveals it to him.

We now have the Spirit of God within us.  In us He lets us knows what His plan, His economy is.

Hallelujah for the Spirit is with our spirit!  May we always live in and by this mingled spirit!

Story of the Gospel

The story of the gospel is not only God loving us, but also we loving Him, like the way Mary the Magdalene had poured her alabaster flask of ointment on the Lord because of her love for Him.  When we preach the gospel, it is not enough just to preach the gospel about God loving us, but also our love towards Him.

Qualities of a Slave

I wasn't really concentrating solely to the PSRP of Crystallization-Study of Mark this morning, for I was doing other things also while I was listening.  But some words from the brother really touched me.

As a slave, we should have the attitude of "immediately, now", we should follow the orders and carry it out as soon as we get it.

To live a God-man living is the life of a slave.  We do not have our own choice.  But we live a life to the Lord.  We should be on the alert all of the time.

As a slave, we should be humble.  It is but our duty to serve the Lord and do things as He wished.  The Lord was a faithful slave too.

Scrimping on the Lord

When you've counted all things as loss on account of Christ, that would be the most reasonable service.  But when you tried to count everything that you've given or exerted for the Lord's sake, it wouldn't be meaningful anymore.  The Lord has given Himself, even His own life for us, it was not for His own sake, but for us.  Who are we?  The things that we've given, the time that we've spent, the life that we've offered to the Lord, all should be given freely.  The Lord deserves our best love!  But oftentimes we would scrimp when it comes to offering ourselves, our time, or our riches to the Lord.  It seems that the Lord doesn't deserve the best.  It seems that we are the master and the Lord is our slave and fits only the droppings from our table.  What is all these in exchange of what He'd given us?

The Good Samaritan

The hymn "Good Samaritan" in Deep Divine Music really touches me.  I was struck with the words in the hymn.

I especially liked the 1st and 2nd stanza,

"1.  A certain man was going down

From Jerusalem to Jericho,

Getting farther away from God;

To this place of curse he'd go.

2. And as he went, among the robbers he fell

Who stripped and beat him 'til he bled,

And, having taken everything that he owned,

They left him lying there half dead.

You know this man who was going down,

This man is me; this man is you,

Who living in our fallen away from God

Were beaten sore and bled from many wounds."

Yes, without Christ, what do we have?  The moment we are away from Christ, we are going down to Jericho, the cursed place.  Lord, I would want to be only in the place where you are, I do not want to be anywhere else but be with You.

Even though we were beaten up in the world, but Christ is the only Good Samaritan that will come and help us.  He is our only comfort, our source of satisfaction.  Hallelujah for we have such a One!

Serving Our Master

As a slave, we do not have much choice, but to serve Him.

We serve out of love, and should not be out of sense of duty.

If it's sense of duty, we would want to break free.

But if it's out of love, we would willingly serve Him until the end.

The secret to service is that we should love Him utterly.

Indeed, what would we be, if we weren't bought by Him?

We would just be worthless, doing nothing, fit for death.

But now we're serving this wonderful Master!

He should be our only concern.

What He desires, we should know.

What He wants, we should accomplish.

This requires our utmost love towards Him.

Now we no longer have to serve our former Master.

Who only usurps us, and drains us.

We're called to the highest duty, to serve the Lord of heavens and earth.

He is the rightful One to claim all our services.

Besides Him, nothing else deserves our service.

Besides Him, no one else derserves our love.

For we are His alone.
