Trip to Mount Banahaw

The trip was supposed to be from November 27-29, 2009. But I have work on the last day, so my trip was just for 2 days.

We met at Ventus Fort supposedly at 6 am, but actually left the place at 7am. Then ate at Friendly Mamihan at around 9am for breakfast at San Pablo, then Cy and others bought our food at the market there. Arrived at the house at around 11am, had lunch and start our hiking and caving in the afternoon. Visited some "pwestos" and entered into caves like Jacob's and Justice cave. I had a hard time crossing through Justice cave, really need much faith to cross through the caves. I'm saying my last prayers while I tried to cross through the caves, because imagine this, the only thing that is keeping the caves open and fit for people to go inside are small pieces of stone, you don't know when they will break...but thank the Lord I've passed through them and lived to tell the tale. But next time I don't think I will be willing to pass through it again...:p

November 28
I woke up at around 5 am, felt cold coz I've forgotten to bring a blanket with me for the trip. :D We had breakfast and leave the house for Kalbaryo at around 7 am I think. Coz we arrived at Kalbaryo at around 9 am, or 10 am? Hmm.. Well, the trip to Kalbaryo is not as easy as I imagined. I thought it would be a whole lot easier because it's not the trip to Durungawan... Some of the trails have spaces of which between the rocks you don't know how deep it would be if you lost your footing on the top of the rocks... I've lost my step once and good thing Mel pulled up. Thanks a lot Mel! :) I've got some scratches and bruises then... Some parts of the trail are muddy, so it was sort of slippery. We had much stops for recharging then, so we reached Kalbaryo 1 hour later than the estimated time... After that, we went forward for the quest to the Falls wherein we were supposed to camp nearby. But when we reached there, it was raining and the dry land near the pwesto was really muddy, so we felt it was not safe to camp there and decided to just have our lunch and swim afterwards and go back to the house. Near the falls there is a cave, we went in and passing through it caused me to have more bruises and bumps... The water from the falls was cold...the view was beautiful, but I was not able to capture a good photo out of it...:(

There are still so many places in Banahaw I want to visit, but wasn't able to this time... maybe next time...

The VEAT that was present this time are: kuya Bitz, Cy and Sweet, Sanny, Ton and Anya, Tisoy and Mel, Bevs, Grace, Anne, Frain and me. There were two guides, kuya Denden and kuya Omay.

Thank you very much kuya Bitz and Cy for accomodating me especially with my having to leave earlier than the rest, kuya Denden and family for the accomodation and VEAT for being there. Till next! :)
